Hydrogen water is simply water with dissolved molecular hydrogen gas (H2). Hydrogen gas is separated from a stream of water during electrolysis. Then, we dissolve it into a second stream of water. Because Echo Hydrogen Water™ has a neutral pH, it is perfectly safe to take with medications. On the other hand, alkaline water is not the best for taking time-release medications. Time-release medications are a two-part pill designed to resist an acid environment because the stomach is very acidic. Alkaline water will dissolve tablets very quickly, so they will no longer have a time-release effect.

Echo hydrogen water devices use electrolysis to separate water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen gas. The oxygen gas is sent out to atmosphere and the hydrogen gas is dissolved into the water, creating hydrogen-rich water. The Echo Go+ device has two platinum coated electrodes separated by a proton exchange membrane. Water is added to the electrolytic chamber where the water molecules are separated into hydrogen and oxygen gas. The PEM separating the electrodes prevents the hydrogen from mixing with the oxygen, allowing only hydrogen gas to be dissolved into the water. The resulting hydrogen-rich water can then be consumed. Studies have shown consumption of hydrogen gas in water to be beneficial for health and wellness.

In an open glass of water 50% of the Hydrogen will be left after about 3 to 5 hrs. In about 8 to 10 hours most, if not all of it will have dissipated into the air. 

In an enclosed bottle or jug with no air inside, the hydrogen can last for up to 10 days. There will be a bit of hydrogen loss everyday. If someone were to start drinking from the bottle, leaving air in the container then the hydrogen would start dissipating into the air.

Hydrogen is a gas, so it can escape even when frozen. Hydrogen can get through steel, metal, glass, and plastic, so it can get through frozen water. We don’t know how much hydrogen would stay in if you made ice cubes from Echo Water™.
